I’ve uploaded all 220 of my photos from our “ecological tour” of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, including reactor no. 4 and the “ghost city” of Pripyat:

I’ll post more about the tour later.

- Ukraine/Poland ’07 Roundup Yeah, I’m finally done writing about this trip. Only took me four months. Still, that’s a significant improvement over last year’s trip to the Caucasus, which I didn’t finish writing about until December. From Alan:
Wow. It makes me want to visit it more than ever…
..how easy was it to organise?
From Lindsay:
Alan, it was quite easy, actually. We booked the tour through Sergei over at Solo East (http://www.tourkiev.com/). You have to do it a bit ahead of time, though, as they have to forward your details (name, passport, nationality, job title, etc) to the Ukrainian government. Also, we were lucky in that as soon as our tour date (July 4) was posted on the Solo East site, a few others signed up, lowering the cost substantially.
From Laura:
I miss the kitties. Can we go back and visit? J/k…
From Lindsay:
Um, actually, I kinda do want to go back there…
From James:
Just found your site while searching Chernobyl photos. I think I’d like to go there.
. My GF, being from that area, hates the Soviet era and is very much against my wanting to go to Chernobyl. I think it’s fascinating as the greatest man made disaster of our time. What was your motivation?
I see that you like ‘the east’, I’ve been to Moldova (my girlfriend is from there). My first visit to the eastern bloc, a very eye opening experience. Check my website for photos.
One more thing (hope you read this
