London, England
I’ve always wanted to go to London, so when I found out that AIFS had an extended layover in London, I was pretty excited. The only thing that sucks about getting to London is that it is an 11 hour flight from LA to Heathrow, but British Airways was pretty comfy. There are tons of movies to watch, the food is excellent, and they give you eye shades and socks.
The Brits drive on the wrong side of the road, but that’s OK. The cops wear those funny helmets and don’t carry guns, and to get places you can take the “tube” (metro) or the red double decker buses. So London is awesome, the Brits are sooooo nice, and I want to move there…maybe I will someday.

St. Paul’s Cathedral. During World War II volunteers used to spend the night sitting on the roof while the German planes bombed the city. If a bomb landed on the roof and was waiting to explode, it was the job of the night watchmen to kick it off the roof. Now those are some brave guys.

This is Buckingham Palace…you know, where the Queen lives.

A military band marches past Buckingham Palace after the changing of the guard.

The relieved guards march back to their barracks.

A view of the Tower Bridge from the Tower of London.

The River Thames, with the Tower Bridge in the background. Notice the sign on the left says “To Let”, which means “to rent”…silly Brits. ![]()
