The DC Metro could use this as well

by in Uncategorized

People late for school or work because of New York City subway delays can get notes from the transit agency to give to their teachers or bosses.

The New York City Transit division says it gives passengers the notes so they can prove they’re not lying about being delayed while riding the subway.

Although in DC it is a given that there will be some sort of delay every morning.

  1. From Ryan:

I’m not totally sure how to do this or if it’s even a real thing, but I think there’s a way to haggle with BART (the SF Metro) and get a reduced fare when they are running late.
When a slowdown ends, someone comes over the intercom, announces that the delay is solved, and that operators should accept normal fares.

Ha, if DC did something like that, they’d be losing a ton of money.
The only time I’ve gotten a free ride on metro is when the electricity to the station was knocked out and they had to leave the fare gates open.
