I promise that someday I’ll stop bitching about Sarah Palin and actually write something original, like travel stories or whatev, but until then, here are a few more excerpts from the interview with Katie Couric:
Couric: And when it comes to establishing your worldview, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?
Palin: I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.
Couric: What, specifically?
Palin: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.
Couric: Can you name a few?
Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too. Alaska isn’t a foreign country, where it’s kind of suggested, “Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?” Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.
Dude, WTF? Why can you not answer this one simple question?! Couric was not asking you to explain the key differences between the Powell Doctrine and the Bush Doctrine, she was asking you WHAT NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES YOU READ! You would think a journalism major could at least name two news sources, no? New York Times (too liberal)? The Economist (too Euro)? Drudge Report? The USA Today coloring book? Guns & Ammo? Highlights freakin’ magazine? How hard is that?!
And now, we turn to Roe v. Wade and the Supreme Court:
Couric: What other Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?
Palin: Well, let’s see. There’s, of course in the great history of America there have been rulings, that’s never going to be absolute consensus by every American. And there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but …
Couric: Can you think of any?
Palin: Well, I could think of … any again, that could be best dealt with on a more local level. Maybe I would take issue with. But, you know, as mayor, and then as governor and even as a vice president, if I’m so privileged to serve, wouldn’t be in a position of changing those things but in supporting the law of the land as it reads today.
As usual, NO ACTUAL ANSWER in that bizarre jumble of words. Palin can’t think of ONE Supreme Court decision she disagrees with? Seriously? Not even that recent decision that she claimed to be “extremely disappointed” with a few months ago? The one that, uh, kinda had to do with Alaska, the state she is governor of? Unbelievable.

- Palin on Russia, again. OH DEAR GOD PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!! Is John McCain playing some kind of sick joke on our country? Did any of his campaign aides actually, uh, talk to Sarah Palin before they selected her as his running mate? Here is the second part of Palin’s interview with Katie Couric. I gotta say, in terms of hilarity,...
- Sarah Palin is a commie who wants to destroy private enterprise, exile the kulaks, and force us all onto kolkhozes QUICK! Someone call Joe the Plumber, America’s preeminent economist, and ask him for his opinion on Palin’s increased taxes on oil companies operating in Alaska! Palin also raised taxes on oil companies after Murkowski’s previous tax regime produced falling revenues in 2007, despite skyrocketing oil prices. Alaska now has some...
- Should journalists on the campaign trail receive hazard pay? Via Dana Milbank: Worse, Palin’s routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. The Femi-Nazis left wing of The Democrat Communist Liberal party have always proclaimed that ANY woman was better than a man. The wackos told me to vote for Geradine Ferraro because she is female and needs no other qualification. Hilary (bitch) Rodham-Clinton was better too cause she is a sensitive person woman who cares about the children. Well now … what goes around comes around and we Republicains are loving it.
From Lindsay:
Democrat Communist Liberal party? Damn, Keith, what are you smoking?
From AuH2O:
The Liberal Democrat Communist party told us we need to get in step because it’s all for our own good and they know what is better for us than we do ourselves. The same Dummycrat Liberal Communist party that forced no flush toilets, mandatory seat belts, 55 mph speed limits, the metric system, and political correctness upon the common people before, is here again. Barry Obama is just planning to do more of the same. He sells it with a sneaky smile and a wave of his hand calling it “change.” Give me the days of Ronald Reagan trying to get the government off the backs of the people.
From Lindsay:
Yeah, the 55mph speed limit sucks, but what do you have against the metric system??
From AuH2O:
What’s wrong with the metric system ????? IT’S INVENTED BY THE FRENCH !!!!!! Nuff Said !
