North Korea: Schoolchildren marching on Kim Il-Sung Square in Pyongyang

by in Asia, North Korea

Here’s a short video I shot of some schoolchildren marching and singing their way through Kim Il-Sung Square in Pyongyang. As I don’t speak Korean, I haven’t the slightest idea what they are singing, so if anyone out there does, let me know.

I just stumbled across your website, starting from the st.petersburg site first actually. I lived in s.korea for three years, and fluent but can’t make out what they’re saying. This is fascinating, the trip you made out there. I’ve never been, and not sure if I’m brave enough to go, but I’m planning on reading every post..

Thanks! I would highly recommend the trip over there…I think it would be even more interesting for you since you lived in S. Korea.

I also think your trip to North Korea is totally fascinating. I never even knew it was possible and I am also going to read every post. Are you considering taking a trip to South Korea?
