- Strongbow Cider in DC: D’Vines First, I should put up a bit of a disclaimer in regards to Strongbow. A reader of this blog (hi John!) recently e-mailed me to share his experience with Strongbow on a recent trip to London: Never having had a Strongbow, at our first pub in Chelsea I saw...

Does Brickskeller not have it?
Naw, Brickskeller had a rather poor cider selection. They carry the usual Hornsby’s and Woodchuck, which I can’t stand. They do carry Blackthorne cider from England, but it’s not as good as Strongbow. Oh, and I’m kinda pissed at Brickskeller…last time we went there they didn’t have like 5 of my top choices in stock.
Is Strongbow better in the can than bottle? I too am a big fan and have been searching for some time. Thanks for your info.
whole foods is the shit. i am a HUGE fan and can still not fathom why LA has like 10 and san diego two, and the desert none. are we or are we not an affluent community full of snooty people who demand over qualified produce? i think so. and trader joes is not big enough for all of the old people.
David, if faced with a choice of Strongbow in a can or glass bottle, I would prefer the bottled version because it tastes a bit better…the only downside is, you don’t get as much in the bottle as you do the can.
Found your website looking for info on Strongbow in DC … I’ve enjoyed several pints at Elephant and Castle. I was in Frederick, MD, last weekend … a nice drive to a cute old, downtown area. There’s a British corner store on the main street that had Strongbow, Woodpecker and Magner’s, all in bottles. It’s out of the way, for sure, but if you’re up there, it’s worth checking out!
Thanks for the tip, Charles
Wow. Thanks SO much for putting this list together.
RFD has it in a can.
I found strongbow at the lost dog cafe in Falls Church, VA. It sells for $9.50 for 4 cans (500ml). Not as cheap as some places but at least its only down the road for me to get to cider heaven.
Also, The Red Derby in Capital Heights sells it by the can for $3 a can if I remember correctly (there’s a good chance I’m not).
